COSMIC SHORES is a little different from what’s come before. I’ve colloquially referred to this series as “adventure novels,” and it’s an apt descriptor. Cosmic Shores is a series of independent, standalone novels that can be read by newcomers and Amaranthe veterans alike, in any order.
Each novel represents a fresh entry-point into this universe and an opportunity for new readers to discover its wonders. Each one is a self-contained story with a complete resolution at the end, free of cliffhangers*—isn’t that a crazy notion?
So what are they about? Well, following the events of Riven Worlds (about 3 years after the end of Duality) some of our most beloved characters are going to venture out beyond the safety of Concord’s borders, encounter new and exciting alien species, and get themselves into bucketloads of trouble.
Marlee is first up in Medusa Falling; she’s all grown up and standing on her own as an ambassador, but trouble always finds her (or she finds it). Book Two follows Eren (with a solid assist from Nyx) on his own wild adventure in The Thief, and Book Three, The Universe Within, features Alex and Caleb doing what they do best. The Universe Within also has a prequel short story, Extinguishing the Stars.
*(Ed. Note: The end of The Universe Within * could * be interpreted by some as a tiny bit of a cliffhanger, at the margins. Oops?)
“How does one author possibly do it? GS Jennsen has delivered over two dozen novels and novellas over 10 years, hosted spine-tingling adventures across space, maintained the narrative integrity for dozens of unique and complex characters, and spurred the readers’ insatiable hunger for more.”
