Aurora Rising: The Complete Collection Now Available, New Short Stories, and What Comes Next

You all have been very patient with me since the release of Transcendence, and I thank you. Now I have ALL the news to share.

  • New blog post today: A Confession, A Reveal and A Promise. Even if you’ve never read one of my blog posts, if you have any interest in what’s coming next after Aurora Rising you want to read this one.
    • You’ll notice that all the word meters in the sidebar now have titles. Most importantly, this includes Sidespace, Book One in Aurora Renegades and Book Four in the larger Aurora Rhapsody saga. Want to know what all that means? Go read the blog post.
    • I’ve also released the titles and cover art for the next SIX books. Want to see them? BLOG. POST.
  • [Update]: AURORA RISING: THE COMPLETE COLLECTION is now live and can be purchased on Amazon! Subscribers will receive an email today with links to download Restless Vol. II or read it online.

Transcendence Audiobook Now Available, Plus Restless Now Free

I couldn't have timed it better if I'd tried (okay, I DID try). The Transcendence audiobook is now available on Amazon and Audible. iTunes will follow in the next few days - I'll update this post with the link when it's available. UPDATE: Here's the iTunes link.

  • The winners in the giveaway of the trilogy audiobooks have been chosen and notified, so if your name's displayed on the widget, check your email!
  • Right now, the Transcendence audiobook is only $3.47 on Amazon if you already own the Kindle version. I can't guarantee it will stay that way (it's out of my control), so you might want to jump on that deal. Go here to grab it.
  • Want to catch up? Here are the links to the Starshine and Vertigo audiobooks (note: they may also be discounted on Amazon if you own the Kindle version):

Giveaway: Win All 3 AURORA RISING Audiobooks

The Transcendence audiobook is "headed to retail" - which means it should be available in the next 5-7 days. To celebrate its release, I'm giving away 10 copies each of all 3 audiobooks: StarshineVertigo and Transcendence.

  • The contest ends at midnight on June 2, which hopefully will more or less coincide with the arrival of the Transcendence audiobook.
  • If you already own the Starshine and/or Vertigo audiobooks, enter anyway! If you win, you can choose to decline the codes for those books, or you can send the codes to a friend you think will enjoy them.
  • The codes work on audible.com, but you don't need to be a member or even sign up for a free trial in order to use them (you do need an Amazon or Audible account).

New Covers for the AURORA RISING Trilogy, Plus an Interview with Caleb and Noah

Well I'm excited. As of today, StarshineVertigo and Transcendence have new covers:

The art is by the amazingly talented Josef Bartoň, aka "Joey Jazz." You can see more of his work here:  joeyjazz.deviantart.com. For the moment, only the Kindle covers have been updated. The new covers will be rolling out to the paperback versions over the course of the week. [EDIT: All the paperbacks have now been updated with the new covers.]

There have been no content changes; they are the same books they always were. If you own an original paperback, please don't feel the need to buy a new one - and should lightning strike in the future, you'll be one of the lucky people possessing original First Editions ;).

Why did I do this? I adore my original covers; they are and will always be dear to me. But as a digital artist I'm a hobbyist at best. As the reality of needing A LOT of new covers in the next few years sunk in (take that however you like ;) ), I realized my time would be far better spent focusing on the writing that would go inside the covers.

Transcendence Is Live

It is my tremendous honor to bring you the conclusion to the Aurora Rising trilogy: TRANSCENDENCE.

  • Transcendence is available for purchase in ebook and paperback on Amazon.com. Outside the U.S.? This link will take you to the book on your Amazon International site.
  • As the paperback is added to more sites, links will be posted here. If you're on Goodreads, the Transcendence page is here.
  • Don't have a Kindle? Kindle apps for your tablet or phone (iOS, Android, Windows Phone), PC, Mac and the cloud can be downloaded here: Kindle Apps. If you read ebooks on something other than a Kindle or Kindle app, please send me an email.
  • I am thrilled beyond measure for everyone to finally be able to read Transcendence, and I truly hope you enjoy it. Of course if you do, don't be shy about it! Reviews are the greatest gift you can give, but tweets, posts on Facebook, Google+, Tumblr, Pinterest, your own blogs, and forums are also most welcome.

Win A TRANSCENDENCE Paperback, Plus Behind the Scenes Trivia

I'm running a giveaway contest over on Goodreads between now and release day. Head here (or follow the link in the widget below) to enter to win 1 of 5 paperback copies of Transcendence. Winners will be announced March 23rd.

  • Fun blog post today: Behind the Scenes with Transcendence. Getting a little deja vu? Behind the Scenes with Vertigo was just a few short months ago. Learn how many heads are lost in Transcendence (not merely deaths, but actual lost heads), who makes the best open-field tackle and more!
  • Awesome blogger and sci-fi/fantasy author Raven Oak is hosting me on her blog for two straight Fridays. Check out my guest post from last week, Flashback Friday: Foundation, in which I confess to being a nerd as a child (shocking news, I realize) and dare to disagree with ones of the greatest science fiction writers ever, Isaac Asimov. (It was done from a place of love and admiration). Then check back tomorrow for my Flashforward Friday post.
  • It was my tremendous honor to be included in another list of noted science fiction authors (who happen to be women), this one by online entertainment magazine itcher: Top Female Science Fiction Authors: From Space Opera to Cyberpunk. To be listed alongside some of my biggest heroes and inspirations (C.J. Cherryh, Lois McMaster Bujold, Ursula K. Le Guin, Catherine Asaro and more)...it's beyond words, even for a writer.
