Transcendence Is Live

It is my tremendous honor to bring you the conclusion to the Aurora Rising trilogy: TRANSCENDENCE.

  • Transcendence is available for purchase in ebook and paperback on Amazon.com. Outside the U.S.? This link will take you to the book on your Amazon International site.
  • As the paperback is added to more sites, links will be posted here. If you're on Goodreads, the Transcendence page is here.
  • Don't have a Kindle? Kindle apps for your tablet or phone (iOS, Android, Windows Phone), PC, Mac and the cloud can be downloaded here: Kindle Apps. If you read ebooks on something other than a Kindle or Kindle app, please send me an email.
  • I am thrilled beyond measure for everyone to finally be able to read Transcendence, and I truly hope you enjoy it. Of course if you do, don't be shy about it! Reviews are the greatest gift you can give, but tweets, posts on Facebook, Google+, Tumblr, Pinterest, your own blogs, and forums are also most welcome.

Win A TRANSCENDENCE Paperback, Plus Behind the Scenes Trivia

I'm running a giveaway contest over on Goodreads between now and release day. Head here (or follow the link in the widget below) to enter to win 1 of 5 paperback copies of Transcendence. Winners will be announced March 23rd.

  • Fun blog post today: Behind the Scenes with Transcendence. Getting a little deja vu? Behind the Scenes with Vertigo was just a few short months ago. Learn how many heads are lost in Transcendence (not merely deaths, but actual lost heads), who makes the best open-field tackle and more!
  • Awesome blogger and sci-fi/fantasy author Raven Oak is hosting me on her blog for two straight Fridays. Check out my guest post from last week, Flashback Friday: Foundation, in which I confess to being a nerd as a child (shocking news, I realize) and dare to disagree with ones of the greatest science fiction writers ever, Isaac Asimov. (It was done from a place of love and admiration). Then check back tomorrow for my Flashforward Friday post.
  • It was my tremendous honor to be included in another list of noted science fiction authors (who happen to be women), this one by online entertainment magazine itcher: Top Female Science Fiction Authors: From Space Opera to Cyberpunk. To be listed alongside some of my biggest heroes and inspirations (C.J. Cherryh, Lois McMaster Bujold, Ursula K. Le Guin, Catherine Asaro and more)...it's beyond words, even for a writer.

Transcendence Release Date, Plus Restless Available for Download

MARCH 23, 2015. It's a date - a date with Transcendence, that is. Now, a few eagle-eyed readers have noticed that March 23 happens to be the one-year anniversary of Starshine's publication. Isn't that a fine coincidence?

  • In preparation for the upcoming release, the website has received a bit of an overhaul. Navigation has moved to the left and been vastly simplified - no more submenus! Each book has its own page, where you will find everything for that title - links to retailers for all formats, the blurb, reviews, links to quotes and excerpts, and share buttons. Transcendence's page is live, too.
    • Oh, and the site's red now :).
  • Restless, the short story included in the Stars & Empire 2 collection is now available as a stand-alone ebook for $0.99. If you haven't read it yet, it's a great peek at Alex and Caleb 8 years before their lives were upended in Starshine. If you read it in S&E2 and enjoyed it, don't be afraid to drop a sentence or two review on its new independent Amazon page - I won't mind.

Happy New Year: Vertigo Audiobook Now Available, Plus a Transcendence Excerpt

I hope everyone had a lovely New Years Eve, whether it involved partying the night away or clinking champagne glasses with friends or family.

  • The Vertigo audiobook is now available on Amazon, direct from Audible and iTunes. It's now linked on the book's main Amazon page, so you can always find it there. Pyper Down did a fantastic job as narrator once again, so I think audiobook fans will really enjoy it.
  • I've added the 5-minute samples of both audiobooks to Soundcloud. There's a link in the sidebar to the Aurora Rising page on Soundcloud. You can also listen to the excerpts directly from the Books page here on the website.
  • Work on Transcendence is speeding ahead. It is easily the most ambitious story I've endeavored to tell so far. To ring in the new year, enjoy the first excerpt from Aurora Rising Book Three:

Stars & Empire 2, Plus An Exclusive Aurora Rising Short Story

Transcendence progress ground to a screeching halt last week for an epic drive across most of the United States (twice), but now I am back in the thick of it. Lots of news to share.

  • I'm thrilled to announce that Starshine has been included in the newly-released anthology Stars & Empire 2: 10 More Galactic Tales. Better yet, it's available at the unbelievable price of $0.99.
  • Stars & Empire 2 includes the first entries in some of the most popular and highest rated space opera and military sci-fi series of the last two years. I'm honored to be included alongside such highly-regarded authors as Endi Webb, Raymond L. Weil, Jay Allan, Edward W. Robertson, Jasper T. Scott, Autumn Kalquist, Nathan Lowell, Chris Reher and Isaac Hooke - and excited at the prospect of putting Starshine into the hands of so many new readers.
  • To sweeten the deal, Stars & Empire 2 includes an EXCLUSIVE Aurora Rising short story: RESTLESS. It takes place 8 years prior to the events of Starshine, and offers a glimpse at both Alex and Caleb while they were still becoming the characters we know and (hopefully) love.

Reddit AMA & Audiobook News

Has it really been a month since Vertigo launched? Wow. Thank you all so much for helping to make it a success! On that note:

  • Vertigo is having a Countdown Sale on Amazon right now, and is available for the practically-free $0.99 for the next 2 days. After that the price goes up every 2 days for the next week, so grab it (or tell your friends to grab it) now.
  • I am excited to announce I've been asked to do an AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Reddit next Tuesday, October 28th: Upcoming AMA: Sci-Fi Author G. S. Jennsen
    • If you're not familiar with AMAs, Reddit users post questions on any topic they like, and unless they are blatantly offensive I'm morally obligated to answer them. If you're not familiar with Reddit, it's the internet's forum of forums, with communities for every topic imaginable (over 8,000) and over 170 million visitors last month alone (I'm not expecting that many to visit my AMA).

If you're a Reddit user, I invite you to come by next Tuesday to /r/suggestmeabook and pick my brain (and keep me company). If you're not, feel free to post a question in the comments to this post, and I'll try to get it included. Also, you don't have to be a Reddit user to eavesdrop.
