Exclusive Interview With Admiral Miriam Solovy

Exclusive Interview With Admiral Miriam Solovy

It's the lovable, adorable Miriam Solovy doing what she enjoys most, gabbing with the press and the public! *melts under Miriam's glare*

Kidding. But though I'm picking on her, Miriam has actually turned out to be one of the most popular characters in Aurora Rising, ranking as a strong reader favorite - after Alex and Caleb of course, and a smidge ahead of Noah. So enjoy Miriam at her finest (with a special guest appearance by Richard).

Happy New Year: Vertigo Audiobook Now Available, Plus a Transcendence Excerpt

I hope everyone had a lovely New Years Eve, whether it involved partying the night away or clinking champagne glasses with friends or family.

  • The Vertigo audiobook is now available on Amazon, direct from Audible and iTunes. It's now linked on the book's main Amazon page, so you can always find it there. Pyper Down did a fantastic job as narrator once again, so I think audiobook fans will really enjoy it.
  • I've added the 5-minute samples of both audiobooks to Soundcloud. There's a link in the sidebar to the Aurora Rising page on Soundcloud. You can also listen to the excerpts directly from the Books page here on the website.
  • Work on Transcendence is speeding ahead. It is easily the most ambitious story I've endeavored to tell so far. To ring in the new year, enjoy the first excerpt from Aurora Rising Book Three:

Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything ) Transcript

Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything ) Transcript

I was honored to be invited to host an AMA on Reddit's /r/suggestmeabook and /r/sciencefiction last month. I had a terrific time chatting with everyone and hopefully provided some interesting answers to their questions.

In case you missed it, here is the transcript of the AMA, unaltered except for formatting and specific-to-Reddit details. It includes more details on my writing process, thoughts about writing and publishing, and juicy tidbits about Aurora Rising than I could ever consciously fit in one blog post, so I hope you enjoy!

Reddit AMA & Audiobook News

Has it really been a month since Vertigo launched? Wow. Thank you all so much for helping to make it a success! On that note:

  • Vertigo is having a Countdown Sale on Amazon right now, and is available for the practically-free $0.99 for the next 2 days. After that the price goes up every 2 days for the next week, so grab it (or tell your friends to grab it) now.
  • I am excited to announce I've been asked to do an AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Reddit next Tuesday, October 28th: Upcoming AMA: Sci-Fi Author G. S. Jennsen
    • If you're not familiar with AMAs, Reddit users post questions on any topic they like, and unless they are blatantly offensive I'm morally obligated to answer them. If you're not familiar with Reddit, it's the internet's forum of forums, with communities for every topic imaginable (over 8,000) and over 170 million visitors last month alone (I'm not expecting that many to visit my AMA).

If you're a Reddit user, I invite you to come by next Tuesday to /r/suggestmeabook and pick my brain (and keep me company). If you're not, feel free to post a question in the comments to this post, and I'll try to get it included. Also, you don't have to be a Reddit user to eavesdrop.

Vertigo Is Live

Don't let me get in the way of the links:

  • Vertigo is available for purchase in eBook and paperback on Amazon.com. Links to Amazon's international sites can be found here. The links on this page will grow as more sites become available.
  • If you don't have a Kindle, not to worry. Kindle apps for iOS, Android, Windows Phone, PC, Mac and the cloud: Kindle Apps.
  • If you're a Goodreads user, the Vertigo page can be found here.
  • I am thrilled beyond measure for everyone to finally be able to read Vertigo, and I truly hope you enjoy it. Of course if you do, don't be shy about it - reviews are the greatest gift you can give, but tweets, posts on Facebook, Google+, Tumblr, Pinterest, your own blogs, and forums are also most welcome.
